As you might have noticed, I am a bit special about my tools and techniques when it comes to photography. I want to explain why I use large format cameras and film, since it seems to be so much easier and more convenient to use smaller, lighter, faster cameras (especially digital camera systems)…but I don’t think easier is always better.

Unfortunately, the negative holder doesn´t allow a full-frame scan, so the pipe on the left is slightly cut off.
This is one of my first self-developed negatives. XTOL 1+1 11:30min @20°C (agitating for the first 30s, then 5s every 30 seconds using Jobo 2520 with 2509n, 4 sheets), citric acid stop bath, Moersch ATS Schnellfixierbad alkalisch 1+4 for 6 minutes.
I recently re-visited this area close to the Dutch border. Have been there with my parents quite often for a walk, almost 20 years ago. Found it to be a good place to haul my 4×5 backpack, although the muddy ground really made it hard to set up the tripod without sinking into the soil…
